Photoshop not saving changes made

Hi

Has there been a problem recently with saving changes to images in photoshop

I am doing a pano and the changes I am making are not being saved

Using MacBookPro - latest update to MacOsHighSierra earlier in the week.

PS and LR Classic (7.1)

What exactly are you doing?

Which file formats?

What happens when you invoke File > Save and what does the History Panel indicate?

Where are the files located?
