Running on win 11
Graphics - Vega 8 & gtx 1650 both updated to latest

Processor - Ryzen 5 3550H

Hi Roy,

Thanks for reaching out. If you can clarify a few things for me, we can get to the bottom of this.

Could you please share the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document and share with us or share here as a comment? Does Photoshop freeze with a specific document, or does it just freeze when you open any documents? Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Set the default GPU for Photoshop to Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 by following the step 7 in this article: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

If you have already done this, go to the location of the preference folder mentioned below and rename it to backup it.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

  • Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
  • Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2022 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2022. old)

This will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install.

We hope this helps.

Thanks!
Sameer K

1. Does Photoshop freeze with a specific document, or does it just freeze when you open any documents?

Freezes when:

1. loading an image

2. accessing camera raw

I can create new and draw/paint on them with graphics on.

2. Already assigned photoshop in nividia. Doesnt help.

3. Backed up and renamed Photoshop 2022 folder in app data to .old. Still no change.

4. Attaching the system info. Thanks
