This issue just started happening. I don't believe I have changed any settings, however I am fairly new to PS and AI and could have inadvertently. I have created a background using Illustrator CS6 it is in RGB. I have saved it as a started .ai file. When I go into Photoshop CC and try and open that .ai file as a smart object it will only open in grayscale. I don't know where I've gone wrong, because doing this process before I have not had an issue and have always opened in color. When Opening the .ai file as a smart object in the thumbnail it shows color as well.

    Hi danielr92441803,

Sorry that Photoshop now opens Smart objects from Illustrator in grayscale. I'd suggest that you restore the app preferences to default as mentioned in this article Preferences in Photoshop and let us know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Akash

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?
