Photoshop open help pages when using selection Tool

When I for example make a square with the Selection tool in Photoshop and release the mouse button, photoshop open my browser with this URL.

https://helpx.adobe.com/se/photoshop/using/adjusting-pixel-selections.html

I use Photoshop and the Selection Tool daily in my work and after 1 hour its like 20-30 tabs with the url below..

Most annoying part is that every time you release the mouse button and this happens, the selection you made disappears so you have to redo it again

If you only have  one screen, you also leave photoshop to switch to the web browser every time it happens.

However, this doesn't happen every time you select something, but maybe every third or fourth time and sometimes many times in a row

My setup is

MacBook Pro 16” 2021

macOS Sonoma 14.4.1

Photoshop 25.5.1

Hi!

I am sorry you are having this issue! What troubleshooting have you tried? Have you tried resetting the tools or resetting your preferences? To reset the tool, click on the Rectangle Marquee Tool, and in the Options bar, click on the arrow next to the Tool Preset box. Then click on the Gear icon at the top right of the panel, and choose Reset tool, or Reset all tools. I would suggest Retarting Photoshop and seeing if that fixes it. If not, then let's try resetting your Preferences. Here is a help doc that will walk you through the process, and I would suggest using the Manual process so you can save any of your presets.

Let is lmpw of either of these fix the issue, or if you still need help.

Thank you! I will test to reset selection tool. What i notice is that every time its open this webpage the selection tool has a small X in the cross. Dont know where it comes from but if i double tap its disappears and no webpage will be open. However, it will return at the next selection.

Hi!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Thank you for the feedback--how did resetting the tool go?

I was reading through some different posts and found that this is not a new issue. It has happened with previous versions of Photoshop. If resetting the Selection tool didn't fix it, I found one post that suggested resetting your preferences:

The Digital Dog wrote: Try resetting your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (macOS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

I would recommend doing it manually and following the instructions in this help page: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Let us know if that worked?
