Photoshop or Indesign for a small book

Hello everyone!

I have to create a small book (20 pages) in A6 size (same as a pocket book). This book would have pictures and a small text to explain each step of a bespoke watch manufacturing.

I know Photoshop very well but don't use InDesign a lot. On which software should I work?

Do you have web addresses where I could find templates (vintages).

Thanks a lot for your answers!

Julie.

Just in case you are still wondering: people often look for the ONE app that pros use. In fact, pros don't use one app, they work with them together. In prepress we often find:

- Photoshop - for scans and photos, to retouch, crop, add special effects

- Illustrator - for drawn graphics

- InDesign - to combine all of your elements

If there is a lot of text, a different app like Word is often used to get the words typed in quickly, but do no formatting in Word. The text becomes something to place in InDesign.

It's a relief that everyone so far has correctly advised using InDesign.

Only a matter of time...

InDesign is the better choice for this.  See link below.

Thanks for your answer Nancy.

But the bocklet I would like to create will contain more pictures than words, that's why I was wondering.

As long as there is any text or graphic elements, InDesign will always be the right tool. Photoshop is not suitable for this.

With effort and extreme care over every aspect of the production you might be able to get the job done in Photoshop, but you'll be swimming upstream all the way and in effect fighting the application. InDesign, on the other hand, was born to do this.
