Photoshop program error that can't be fixed

Question

The file I'm trying to open was able to open about 2 weeks ago.

Now I keep getting the pop up message that says it couldn't open because of an error.

The error wasn't there when I last saved the file.

It's PSB file.

I've tried the suggestions from the "Learn how to fix, "Photoshop could not complete your request because of a program error" when opening or saving files" posting on the Adobe website.

Nothing worked.

I've also tried opening the file on another device. It keeps giving the same error message.

Another file that I had saved on the same day as the one that now won't open can open. I don't know what happened to the file that supposedly has an error. I don't want to have to completely restart from scratch.

@meerna_8476 so, if you don't see the temporary file, then there is absolutely nothing you can do—meaning, you need to re-create it

@meerna_8476 your Photoshop Big PSB file is likely corrupted. It sucks. Photoshop or the system could crash during the save process can lead to an incomplete or improperly written file. And sometimes, you won't notice if you are not paying attention. Or worse, a failing hard drive or flash drive can cause data to be written incorrectly, leading to file corruption. This is why I always back up my files so often to not one back-up but to several backups from 4 external drives, and the cloud. I had 5 external drives, and that failed too!

Photoshop has an auto-save feature that may have a recent working copy of your file. This is your best bet for recovering a significant portion of your work. Look for a file with a similar name to your original PSB. It may have a different extension or be in a temporary format. If you find one, try opening it in Photoshop.

PC: The path is typically C:\Users\[Your Username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop [Version]\AutoRecover. The AppData folder is often hidden, so you may need to enable hidden files in your File Explorer options.

MAC: The path is typically ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [Version]/AutoRecover. The Library folder is also hidden by default.

If you can't see a temporary file or the file still doesn't open, sorry, but, you might be out of luck. You could try those 'so-called' claims where companies can locate lost files?!
