Photoshop "program error" appearing.

So I've had this weird error suddenly appearing yesterday:

I recently got a new custom pc with some pretty new parts in it and have been using it for my work. Photoshop was working just fine but out of nowhere photoshop could no longer open my workfiles. After opening Photoshop, when trying to open a file it would give me an error. Not only that, he refused to close after being getting the error, both actions giving me this message:

"Could not complete your request because of a program error"

The "learn to fix" page did not give me any solutions:  I have the newest version of Photoshop and my graphics driver is fully updated.

After looking up the problem on Youtube I noticed it has to do with the preferences - general -performance - use graphics processor settings. When it's turned off it completely works fine again, however I can no longer use things like the scrubby zoom or the rotate tool, which I use a whole lot in the past.

Does anyone know why this suddenly happened after working normally before?  And how would I be able to use it like it's supposed to again? I can't live without my scrubby zoom and rotation tool! XD

OS: Windows 11

Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-13700K 3.40 GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

this is what my Photoshop Graphics Processor Compatibility check says:

Pass: OpenGL available

Pass: OpenCL available

Pass: DirectX available

Pass: Direct X feature level 12.2 available, feature level 12.0 required

Pass: Above required VRAM (16064 MB of 1500 MB required)

GPU Detected: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 (NVIDIA)

Correct answer Toonfield

Thank goodness for Youtube for I have found the answer:

Basically it was a problem with my wacom not being directly plugged into the driver's ports. Because of this it apparently tries to run on the sort of driver of the Intel processor?

However both my wacom and monitor were both HDMI and the driver only had one port for that (and three displayports), so I did not see any harm. I solved it by buying a displayport adapter and plug the wacom directly in the driver. Now it seems to be working again.
