Photoshop's 3D tools VS Dimension

OK, I don't know why I'm struggling to find this, but my first thought when I saw that Adobe makes a dedicated 3D app is, “I’m guessing this is a more advanced standalone app than the 3D tools available in Photoshop? What makes this better than the 3D tools already in Photoshop?” I have to admit. I immediately looked for a comparison video, thinking there would be several, nope, a webpage? nope...

I've drawn a blank. But I'm also confused as to why I'm struggling to find something on the web about this.

Domension can handle different tasks.  Honestly PS 3D is very limited for my needs.
