Photoshop Scaling in the New Update

I just updated to 20.0 and now every time I try to scale something, it will only do it proportionately. I want to be able to scale vertically and horizontally, but not at the same time (unless I'm holding shift). If I drag to the left or right to scale, it scales the whole object (height and width). How to I turn this feature off? I tried clicking the link button in the tool bar that links height and width, but that didn't work. Thanks.

with the new version, scaling in proportion is the default. Now you need to hold the modifier key (shift) to get it to free form scale, or you can uncheck the little link button at the top, and do it by the numbers on either side of the link button.

We found a way to fix this !!!!!!

    1. Throw away Photoshop 2019

    2. Empty trash

    3. Open the adobe creative cloud app

    4. Download and install photoshop CC 2014. Literally the last decent version of this app.

@adboe STOP DUCKING UP ALL YOUR APPS!  WTF!???

I have better idea - there is still CS6 (I use as all next ones disappointed me by some stuff that got broken and then unfixed)!

Ok, thank you. Not sure why they would change something that's been one way forever. This is going to take some getting used to. Thanks so much for the help!
