Photoshop 'stringy' metallic effect

Can someone advise how to create the stringy metallic effect in Photoshop or other tool - quite cool I think - like with this musician at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1GMS4C8S8g

Set your layers like this

I put the balck fil at 66% so I can see undernath

Brush onto the layer I called scratch

If you want to have more smooth lines turn on smothing in your Brush Settings. Mine was off so very messy.

Set opacity to 100% when done scratching out

later you can add and adjustment later of gradient, and clip it to the layer underneath
