Question

Photoshop Stroke on clipping mask

I create a shape, add a stroke to it. Clip an image to it. All OK. When I add any layer directly above it (raster, text, or shape) and move that layer around, it removes the stroke on clipping mask anywhere it touches it. I can restore the stroke effect by turning the effect off then on again. Layer(s) more than one layer above the clipping group do not affect the stroke. Running 22.5.1 and it does not make a difference with graphics processor enabled or disabled, Hope this is clear.

I can't repro with a similar setup (see attached Movie and psd).

Can you repro with my file? If not, can you post your PSD?

The file you sent me behaves fine. I created another small file and it worked fine as well.

But here is a test file based on my original file I noticed the problem on (maybe just me?)  It originally had many more layers and was a dimesionally larger PSD but I deleted the layers that were not involved and and trimmed the file down to minimal dimensions. This file (test.psd) exhibits the rendering problem - stroke on clipping mask gets "wiped" off when I top layer.  This is a rendering issue...the file saves with a stroke and I can restore any portion of the stroke that was wiped away  by cycling mask layer off and on.  This happens with or without graphic processor enabled.

Thanks
