Photoshop suddenly won't open.

1. I was using Photoshop when it started acting slowly or differently.

2. Closed Photoshop

3. Reopened Photoshop but message popup said must reinstall or fix, can't remember what exactly.

4. Clicked popup button. Progress was stuck for a long time at 52% so I closed down that process.

5. Don't see creative cloud on my add/remove programs. No cc or adobe running in the processes.

What do I do to get back Photoshop?

In a first step I would reset the Photoshop preferences.

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset_preferences

If this doesn't help I would suggest a complete and clean reinstallation.

Please follow the steps below:

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 4 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

What has been changed on your system since the error occur?

To reset the the preferences you don't have to start Photoshop. You can do it by deleting the following folder:

Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings

See also the Manually - section in the linked document

I can't do the first step because I can't open Photoshop. The only other thing I noticed system-wise since the error is that my Wacom middle mouse button suddenly stopped working in Blender at the same time as the Photoshop problem(very unusual). I didn't change anything on my system.

I'll have to go through the other steps in the morning because it's late here. Thanks.

Hi @Intercostal ,

That is weird.

Download the CC desktop app from here. https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html

Once installed open it, choose Apps.

Choose Install for Photoshop.

Let us know how you go
