Photoshop takes 5 minutes to open

I've been having this issue for a while now where from time to time photoshop takes about 5 minutes to open. Most of the time it's fine, however. Not only that but my photoshop just runs worse than I ever remember. I have a great computer so I shouldn't be having any issues. I've tried everything I can find online, so any suggestions would be appreciated.

I just posted a reply which disappeared. Anyway, remove a folder called Automate from within the plug-in folder of the 64-bit Photoshop (12.0.4) and now Photoshop loads fine in under seconds.

It sounds really annoying, especially if you have a good computer. Have you tried resetting Photoshop settings or checking if a plugin is causing the problems? This may help.
