Photoshop takes up RAM beyond the set threshold

How does this look in Task Manager when it happens? (both system RAM and VRAM graphs)

(I have never seen this, so we need to gather as much information as possible).

The system is running with a dedicated GPU with 8 GB of Ram.
The integrated GPU is disabled.
The key point is why PS doesn't respect the setted limit of 60% of occupancy.

Is this a dual GPU laptop? If so, the GPU uses system RAM, and I think it may show up under PS in task manager. I may be wrong, but this kind of thing usually happens with laptops.

Aside from that, it's normal and expected for Photoshop to saturate the allocated memory quickly. That's why you have a scratch disk to take over the heavy load.

But it should obviously not go over that limit.

Can you post the full Help > System Info from PS? (all of it).

PS runs on an SSD with around 230 GB of free space at this time.
Image files anda data are spanning across 3 hard disks of 3, 4 and 8 TB.

I can't understand the reason why an application supposed to have a minum requirements of 8 GB to run should occupy 20 GB or more just with few operations on a single image. Moreover the configuration is to limit the RAM occupancy up to 14 GB at maximum!

How much spare hard disk capacity do you have?
