Question

Photoshop taking unusually long time to save on MacOS

Hi team,

I am running the latest version of PS 24.7 (updated a few days ago), on MacOS Big Sur 11.6.2. Storage on Mac 80GB free/external Hard Drive 41GB free.

Since updating, Photoshop is taking up to 30 mins to save a Tiff file opened from Lightroom. Simple editing used such as clone tool, small content aware fill. Usually would only take a few seconds to save, with new edit appearing in Lightroom. File does eventually save but yeah, takes forever.

Any help would be appreciated as it has seriously slowed down my workflow as deadlines approach.

I'm having the same problem only it's with any images I'm opening directly in photoshop

(Operating in rollback version) The issue seems to be isolated to sending a photo from lightroom, to PS (formats NEF > Tiff), saving in PS, and having it reappear edited back in LR.

I have opened other images in PS, individual JPEGS and TIFFS and then saved them back with minimal issues - as a PSD (no lag time), and also TIFFS (A bit laggy but less than 2 minutes).

I wonder if Lightroom is actually to blame here?

Edited to add:

- I have reset my PS preferences and that did not work.

- I uninstalled PS and then reinstalled the rolled back version of 24.6, did not solve the issue.

- I have even tried replicating in PS Beta, and that is also showing the same slow saving issues.
