I am just learning about photoshop. I have a logo I am editing. I added a wood panel background but some of my text is hidden underneath. How do I get my text on top of the background?

Could you post a screenshot that includes all of the Layers panel?

So this is all the layers without the wood panel background.

& this happens when I add the background. Part of my text is hidden underneath.

That's not the Layers panel that Semaphoric asked for — this is. Drag it out to make it floating, then resize it taller and wider so we can see all the layers. Most likely, you will need to drag the text layer so it is higher than the wood panel layer. The words "Photography by" may be on a separate layer underneath the wood panel.

Your newest screen shot shows it clearly. The wooden board layer is above the "Photography by" layer. Drag the layers inside the panel to change the order and put the "Photography by" layer above the white board.

When you design a logo, make sure you also produce a black and white version for use when colour isn't available.
