In the File menu, after selecting Your Files, Photoshop does not remember the last used directory path. The file search bar is also missing! This bug has been reported many times in the Beta version... I reported it twice myself.

With this bug, Photoshop is unusable for work—you can't search for your own files, and you have to go into a specific directory from scratch every time.

Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more information to help you figure this out. Please share a video of the issue and the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.

I've tried to recreate this, but I couldn't recreate it exactly. For now, ensure no stale preferences are in Photoshop. 

Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.

• Windows 10/11: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
• You can press Press the Windows key > Enter 'Run' > Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe
• Rename the Adobe Photoshop folder by adding a .old at the end. (Adobe Photoshop 2025 > Rename > Adobe Photoshop 2025. old), You can restore these preferences later if needed.(https://adobe.ly/4860qM9)
• Restart the computer.

These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install. Let me know how it goes.

@Sameer K Okay, I rushed my answer. It works, but only on the main screen—as long as you don't have any files open. Photo #1. When files are open, the search bar disappears and the directory structure is not saved. Photo #2.

Thanks for sharing the updated screenshots. I've shared them with the team for review. In the meantime, you can use the Home button to go back to the main screen, open the target document from Your Files >, and drag the layers onto your current document.
