I am a Adobe subscriber who has been trying to run the latest online version of PS 23.4.2 which freezes upon opening while running Mac OS Monterey ver. 12.5.  I have tried everything including uninstalling all Adobe apps along with the Creative Cloud app, tried creating a new Administrator for the Mac, all of which did not correct the problem.  I am running on a Mac Studio M1 Max with 32 GB of RAM.  I reinstalled an older version of PS 23.2.0 and it works fine.  Please advise if this is a widespread problem with the latest versions of PS and if so when do you expect to correct.  [removed by moderator]

Thank you,

Mike Claudy

Hi. From what I've seen, this does not appear to be a widespread problem. I'm wondering if you may be running an old plugin that's locking your app up on load? My first suggestion would be to try this: https://photoshoptrainingchannel.com/tips/skip-loading-optional-and-third-party-plugins/

If it's still a problem, please try uninstalling - but using the Cleaner Tool (which will remove residual files in your library folder) https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Please note: we are not a "you". This is a user-to-user forum, and although Adobe personnel will occasionally pop in to help, we don't do any of the app development.

What from you say it seems like a "glitch" on the latest Photoshop on M1.

I'd sugest you stick to the previous version for now, which is working (I know this is not ideal but working).
