photoshop-view-pattern-preview

I created a document in 1000x1000 pix.According to this page,it should show a box within the canvas.

first thing I did was click on view-pattern-preview.There is not box inside my canvas like this shows?

On the View menu, is Extras selected (✓) or deselected?

The box does not appear if View > Extras or View > Show > Pattern Preview Tile Bounds is deselected.
