Photoshop, which I use on my Mac, suddenly started distorting images in a glich-like way.

You have a base model Air with only 8GB of RAM and minimal free scratch disk space. I suspect that you are hitting the hardware limits. Only open one file at a time and you may need to quit and relaunch Photoshop now and then to free up memory. Longer term, you really need a computer with more RAM (16-24GB is still minimal) for it to work well.

I worked a little bit. 8-10 psd files open at the same time with an average size of 100mb. When I enlarged a jpg file 4x with “Super Zoom” and dragged it into one of the open files, the image distortions started happening again.

Installing macOS from scratch and installing Photoshop from scratch didn't work, but all of a sudden it was fixed. I didn't do anything. I turned off my computer, I got up in the morning and now it's working. But I'm going to push photoshop a little bit just to make sure.

If I get the error again, I'll try to find the exact scenario that generated the error. I'll post it here.

Thanks for sharing the details — sorry to hear you're facing this issue! 

To help us dig deeper, could you please share your Photoshop system info? You can get it by going to: Photoshop > Help > System Info..., then click Copy and paste the full report here. In the meantime, since reinstalling Photoshop didn’t help, let’s also try resetting your Photoshop preferences manually:

Steps to reset preferences on macOS manually:

• Quit Photoshop.
• In Finder, navigate to: ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop 2025 Settings/
• Move this entire folder to your desktop (as a backup).
• Relaunch Photoshop — it will create fresh preference files.

Let us know if the glitching persists after this, and do share your system info so we can investigate further.
