Photoshop Won't Open a New Page for me to work on

New Here ,

Hey Adobe community,

For a few months now I have been unable to actually open up anything new on Adobe photoshop. Whenever I try to begin a new project with a custom size, no pages will open up, and I'll just be left on the same dashboard as I began on. I feel like I've tried all the remedies that I have been able to find within the Adobe Support Community and the rest of the internet.

Unfortunately I took out a yearly subscription, that is paid monthly, and will continue to be paid monthly. This seems  ridiculous to me, especially given that I have not been able to use the app for quite some time. I'm expected to continue paying for a product that just doesn't work the way I want it to - and any time I look on the Adobe website for support, or look to contact Adobe themselves, it's just one big roundabout with the same nonsense being regurgitated each time.

I go to cancel my subscription - and I'm still expected to pay for the remainder of the year? At this point I don't even want to use Adobe Photoshop - I'd rather use something else given the complexities of using the app, and actually being able to get in contact with the company. I'd hope for a full refund but I'm assuming that would be out of the question.

Is anyone able to offer any support with regards to this? Would be much appreciated.

Thank you

You can roll back to the version that worked until someone can find out why. I'm sure you reset preferences already.

https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

A few ideas: Go to Photoshop Preferences > Technology Previews and check "Deactivate Native Canvas"

Restart Photoshop.

Instead of the usual New Document dialog, have you tried the Legacy New Document dialog?

Just go to Preferences > General, checkmark that option, restart Ps and try your custom size there.

Have you tried resetting your preferences? Go to Preferences/General and click the reset button.

Next make sure Photoshop is listed and active under Mac System Preferences/Security and Privacy/Full Disk Access.

Anything regarding payments, cancellations and refunds needs to be addressed directly with Adobe Customer Support.

Another question if none of these suggestions work - go to Photoshop Help Menu/System Info and paste the details here.

Three things come to mind -

  • what OS version are you running?
  • what Mac computer are you on?
  • how much free HD space/Scratch disk do you have (you can check under Preferences/scratch disk)?
