Photoshop won't open on Mac

New Here ,
Jul 31, 2021 Jul 31, 2021

Hi,

Photoshop 2021 won't open anymore on my Mac (MacOs Big Sur 11.4). When trying to launch it from the dock, the logo only bounces but nothing else ever happens.

Has someone any idea of what to do to make it work again?

Thanks!

You can also try signing out and back in to your Creative Cloud desktop app, previous posts have shown this to work with older OSes like Big Sur.

I went to this link above. But how do I make this 'fix' if Photoshop won't open to get to preferences, because only a pop-up window comes up that says, "This application Adobe Photoshop 2021.app is not open anymore."? And why now in my Trash is a 'Recovered Files' folder with  "Adobe Photoshop 2021" folder in it, yet nothing inside that folder to open?

To manually delete Photoshop preferences:
Quit Photoshop.
Navigate to Photoshop's Preferences folder:
macOS**: Users/[user name]/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
Windows 10: Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop [version]/Adobe Photoshop [version] Settings
**Note:The user Library folder is hidden by default on macOS. In the Finder, hold down the Option key when using the Go menu. The library will appear below the current user's home directory.
Now you can drag the entire Adobe Photoshop [Version] Settings folder to the desktop or somewhere safe for a backup of your settings

Hold Shift+Ctrl+Opt+Cmd and then click to open the application. It will ask if you want to reset before the splash screen appear.

Can you launch Photoshop 2021 from Applications or the Creative Cloud app? If you can the issue is with the Alias in your Dock. If not, it's the application itself.

Sometimes it's the simpliest solution that works (Occam's Razorish). After turning off iMac, going for a walk and getting your reply (and others not so simple), I signed out of Creative Cloud and signed back in and, voilà, like magic Photoshop's back! Sincerely, Thanx!
