Photoshop wont start after being closed without restart

Weird....ever since updating to photoshop 2023, if I close the app and then try to restart it, it won't open again without restarting my computer. Any ideas?

So after many hours spent with adobe trying to fix the issue, the elevated tech thought that there was a conflict somewhere. I ended up reinstalling windows and all my programs. Works great now!!! I mentioned to him that its a shame Adobe doesn't have any tools to see when are where the conflict occurs.

While I'm glad you got it to work, re-installnig Windows and all the programs is not doable nad absolute lousy solution.

I'm having the same problem and just with they would fix whatever they did that introduced the problem several updates back.

Even if you unsintall it, and reinstall it the same things happens so it's a problem in photoshop.

Thank you for the update @sdepace. Have you spoken with the maker of your video card? Is there any information they can share with you as to why this may be happening?

OK thanks. Here's the update. After spending two hours with one adobe tech, who wasn't able to help, a second was able to get it to work properly when I unhooked my second monitor. My graphics card is a 1080ti which should be able to run two monitors but he said that it was running out of vram which was causing the 5 min opening delay. I'm not buying it. Do you guys have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help with this. I looked in the adobe photoshop 2023 settings folder and yes the patterns file was over 1gb. I removed it but no luck. Same problem. My sky presets folder is still over 1gb as well. Does that matter? Is there any phone support for Photoshop?

Thank you @sdepace, a question from the team:

Do you have Presets (like Patterns, Styles, brushes) that are BIG (hundreds of MBs or larger?)
Both of these tools > FX Box 1.1.0, PROFACTIONS - Draftum 1.3.0 > rely on ACTIONS with excplicit Presets = Patterns brushes that can be big.

We know (known issue) this can impede startup to load these into Ps

So I went back to 24.1 and I noticed that after trying to restart photoshop it does nothing but if I leave it for about five minutes, it will startup again. Any reason that could be?

Just rolled back to photoshop 2022.....same problem!!!
