Photoshop zig zag filter

Hi. My photoshop zig zag filter is greyed out & I dont know why. I am working in srgb/8 bit. All other distort filters are okay & all my render filters are too.

 

I have tried using the filter on a stamped layer, a saved down jpeg and a selection on a new blank layer. Not sure what to try next 

 

My RAW working files are large

Looks like 8000 pixels x 8000 pixels is the max size for the ZigZag filter.

    Thanks so much. I reduced my image size to 8000 on the long side and the filter works now.

    How large are you files in terms of pixel dimensions?

    Image>Image Size

     

    A lot of those old photoshop filters have limits on the size of image they work on.

    Hi. On average my images are about 5400 x 8100
