Photoshop zoom shortcut centering image bug

When zooming with the keys, Photoshop returns a view of the center of the image.

It is very, very, very uncomfortable and extremely annoying. I have to work with large images, and I need to stay in the working area of the image.

When the usual behavior of Photoshop changes dramatically, it greatly reduces productivity!

Photoshop version 21.1.1 but the bug is still here.

Here is a very similar problem in the earlier version.

Hello, Photoshop 22; that has just been released today, does have a zoom centering issue in its fixed issues list https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html#photoshop-desktop-fixed-issues

I recommend to install it while keeping the older version installed, as explained in: https://helpx.adobe.com/be_en/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

If you are not seeing it, go to help>check for updates in your CC application.

I had the same issue and it was resolved by toggling off Overscoll and back on again.

The whole auto-center image functionality is disorienting and I can't ever think of a time it would be useful.
