Pixelated images

I recently reworked some pixelated images by making a working path of the image and saving that as a shape. This worked perfectly the first few times I did it; beautiful smooth lines no matter how much you zoomed in. Today, however, when I make the same type of working path, the subsequent shape is blurry. Even if I import one of the previous images I made as a pdf, those images become blurry too. They also export and save blurry. I've checked the resolution, which is at 300 pixels/inch, and I really don't know where to go from here. Any ideas?

You should have saved your good shapes as a layered PSD files not a PDF document.   Shape layers should not be blurry.  Importing a PDF will not get your shape layers there gone if you did not save layered files with shape layers.  Zooming does not change size.  Image size does so does transforming layer.   Shape layers transform and resize using vector graphics if your have create good paths for your shape layers should resize beautifully even poor  paths will be sharp not burry.  The shape may just be poorly shaped.

Shape layers should not be blurry its shape though may be poor
