Question

placing image with perspective inside of a shape

Guys

I am looking to place a large number of photos inside of small squares (image 2) on my main image (image 1). I am trying to get each tile of the walkway to have at least 1 image. Each image will have to be warped in perspective, in order to keep it aesthetically appealing and look as realistic as possible.

Because there are so many squares to fill with so many photos, I need a way to keep it relatively efficient, so that if I choose to put a different image (for colorcast variance, etc)

The images attached hopefully help illustrate (no pun intended, ha) what I am trying to do..

Don't hesitate to email me or respond to this post with answers.

You can not use shapes they only support a solid color fill, a gradient  fill or a pattern fill and none of the fill  would have any perspective added to the fill.  Clipping an image layer to a perspective shaped layer again would not add any perspective to the clipped image.

You can use a Smart Object  layer and add a perspective to the smart object layers associated Object transform that generates the layers pixels.

Save the document as a PSD or PSDT for use as a template.   You can use Replace content to populate the template with  replacement content or open the layers smart object to edit replacement content into the template's object..

There are many ways  also to enhanced the composite for example overly layers can add will texture, highlights and shadows to the image.  Smart vector layers can also have smart filters added so a smart displayed map filter can be added.

Search the web for  tutorials on creating templates.  There is no Standard way. If well crafted templates will be easy to use and populate.  Try to keep your template as simple as possible.  If you make very complex templates where everything can be customized.   The template will be overly complex to use and not suitable for automated population.
