I frequently get a "because of a Program Error" message in Windows which is a show stopper and it forces me to delete my preferences. My only recourse is to go to settings, delete them, and restart the app.
This happens very frequently, and for a long time.
It fills me with frustration, and a touch of anger, when I look for any kind of support and Adobe says to "delete your preferences", as if that's ok. It's not ok, and never has been.
I would like to put the Adobe Creative Suite team that governs preferences cross all apps on the spot to elimate this from happening. No user should EVER be told to delete their preferences as a means to solve a bug. The corruption of preferences should be fixed forever and the team responsible should act every time a bug emerges where a creative suite user is asked to delete preferences.
Photoshop in particular it happens the most. If I say "don't ask again or rearrange my desktop, it happens again.
I have a very stable high end PC running powerful graphics cards with up to date drivers.
The only thing I can point to is that I use five monitors and I surmise that photoshop isn't tested properfly for multiple monitor setups. This should not be a factor either.
I would appreciate support from the community to chime in and let their displeasure be know and that preferences needs to get fixed globally no matter what your configuration is.
There known errors should be caught, and handled. No exceptions.
I would appreciate if this eggregious neglect could be brought to the attention of at least a VP level product manager to make sure it gets the cross-suite attention it deserves.
Sincerely,
Fed Up.

I don't know if there's an issue with using five monitors, but have you tested Photoshop with one monitor to see if the issue is replicated? That might be an important step to isolating the issue, Photoshop is normally rock solid if you're using the correct system specs.

Most of us aren't having this issue, and yeah Adobe recommends NOT using multiple video cards.
