.png files I have been using for years suddenly low res\pixelated when opening or placed

Try this: Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Does the problem still occur?

    Hi Jeffrey... thanks for the quick reply!  Yes... much better.  When I first opened the .png file it seems a little soft (out of focus)... but when I placed into an older image with a signature from before....looks the same.  Thanks again!
