Question

Preferences/Plugins/Legacy Extensions grayed out; need to reverse this for Rosetta 2 Plugin

Hello, I’m trying to run a Photoshop plugin (Perfectum3 Watercolor app). It’s supposedly been updated to work with Rosetta 2 on my silicon M1 Mac Mini (Monterey). The developer sent me instructions saying that in Photoshop, I need to go into Preferences/Plugins, and then activate the following: "Enable Generator" (which I did). Then scrolling down to “Legacy Extensions,” I’m supposed to activate “Allow Extensions to Connect to the Internet” and also “Load Extension Panels.” However both of these options are grayed out, and I have no idea how to reverse that. I’ve done a lot of i-net research to no avail; any help would be greatly appreciated!

I believe you need to run photoshop under Rosetta

by going to

Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2023

right clicking on the

Adobe Photoshop 2023.app

then Get Info, check Open using Rosetta

I knew I had to run Rosetta in order to run the watercolor script, but I never thought to run Photoshop itself via Rosetta.  In hindsight, I guess it makes sense in that the plugin isn't a real app in and of itself; I believe it's just a script, but I could be wrong.  Anyway, your suggestion worked... I opened Photoshop using Rosetta (took a little longer than usual) and upon going to my Preferences panel, I now can access the previously grayed out options.

Thanks for your help!
