Presets disappearing from Photoshop

Made all these Hue/Saturation presets, loaded them into the H/S dialogue box.  They showed up fine in the drop down menu, but when I close Photoshop and then reopen it they're gone, and have to be reloaded individually to use them.

Tedious.

What am I doing wrong?  The files are saved on the Desktop in a folder called Presets.  Should they be somewhere else?  Kinda lost on this one.

Presets can be found at the user level, which should be the default location offered when saving a preset:

Mac OS Example:
  • /Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop2022/Presets⁩/
 Win OS Example:
  • C:\Users\username\appData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Presets\

Presets can also be stored at the application level:

Mac OS Example:

  • /Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2022/Presets/
Win OS Example:
  • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Presets\

In either case, there are numerous directories under this top-level where the presets are stored.

P.S. I seem to recall that some users decide to store various files in another central location, then use an alias/shortcut to make these files accessible in the expected locations as above. I personally don't do that, I always save a copy of any important preset from the standard location/s to a backup folder.
