I reported a frustrating bug last July & not that with version 25.6 (March 24 update), the bug is still there.

As far as I can tell, I have no comment at all from Adobe & find it very frustrating that a tool, which has worked correctly for years, is broken by an update & has remained so ever since despite being, I would assume, a simple bug to correct.

The thread I raised at the time is below:-

I would welcome a comment from Adobe on this.

Thanks, just seen this, followed the thread &, by following the advice to create a config file with notepad, the problem appears to have ben solved.

Reading all the replies, especially those from professional users, on this I am very surprised that Adobe have not quickly addressed the issue. It seems bizzare that users are expected to create their own fix for a glitch in such a major piece of software.

Still, hopefully, all well that ends well!

Thanks again for your help.

Hi, I guess that Adobe sees it as a feature and not a bug, and has provided a workaround for those that want the old behavior. It seems that the goal of the change was to stop the many beginner users that complain that the text they type is too small or too big to be seen. Again, maybe one can expect pros to be able to find a solution, while beginners could not see what was wrong in the settings used in the previous image. I concur that a preference would have been way more discoverable, even for pros.

I merged both threads as they deal with the same issue.

Its not a bug, Adobe specifically changed the type tool to work this way. Whether its a good feature is in the eye of the beholder.
