Print drop down menu shows deleted icm filenames

I would like to clean up the print drop down menu in PS/Windows10  PS 25.2

I have updated various .icm print/paper profiles, and deleted the old ones in C;/etc system32/spool/drivers/color. So the redundant profiles no longer exist on the pc.

However...
When I come to print in PS, and I select "Photoshop Manages Color", I can access the list of profiles available to me to print from - plus the others.  That list shows the new , updated, profiles and I can use them. However, it retains the names of the old ones, which is a darn nuisance since, being updates, names are often similar.

If you click on one of the old ones, PS aborts the print job, so PS knows it isn't available, but how do I clean up the list.

I have deleted and reset my settings file - not just preferences, so that isn't the answer.

Anyone know how please?

I don't use LR so going to that is not an option.

Correct answer NB, colourmanagement

@meyrickgj I think if profles are showing there they MUST be on your OC somewhere.

Try @Kevin Stohlmeyer 's tip

Or how about a search for the profiles by name?

Be aware though that the displayed name (in Photoshop) may not be the same as the filename

I hope this helps

@meyrickgj did you check C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color to make sure they are removed from that location?

If so you can try resetting the printer window itself by holding the space bar when choosing File>Print.
