Question

Printed image does not fit on paper

Hello Everyone!

🙂

I set up an image in Photoshop to be a 4 inch by 6 inch card for printing on 4 x 6 inch photo paper stock.

However, whenever I print it, the outside edges of the image are not printed.

I have tried fiddling with everything from paper size to size to fit, and nothing helps.  I even tried printing it in Mac OS Preview, but that does the same thing, cuts off the outside edges of the image.

I have measured the paper to make sure it is the proper size, and it is about 5.999 by 4 inches.

Any ideas that I could try to fix this?  Thanks for any help or advice you can offer!

Take good care,

~Antonio

Presumably your printer isn’t an edge-to-edge printer, though this is usually an issue with larger paper sizes.

Can your printer print borderless on 4x6 stock? Try checking scale to fit media in the print dialog.  Photoshop may change the print resolution a bit. The ptinter may also set the  printable area a little smaller than 4" x 6"

Photoshop change the resolution from 300 to 301 to scale the image to fit the paper. Though I set the printer paper to 4" x 6"  and checked boarderless in printer settings. It looks like the printer reported the paper size to be a bit smaller to Photoshop.
