Printing Numbered Labels

How do you print numbered labels in PS? I created them following a tutorial as a Data Set using Image>Variables>Define, etc. and they all appeared as expected as jpg files in a new folder, but I haven't been able to print the way I want. I have tried loading them into a stack and creating a contact sheet, but what I want is to print them on Avery labels (or any other commercially available brand).

And what way is that?

Have you considered using a potentially more fitting application like Indesign?

Photoshop is not imposition software, this could be imposed with a script, but there is little point if you design the process correctly. The contact sheet is not the correct layout for the label sheet. You need to create the layout to match the pre-cut label sheet.

If there is a known Avery sheet size and label size + step & repeat layout, and you must use Photoshop, I'd suggest that you create the variable data at the full sheet size, 20 labels on the sheet or whatever the count is. That way if you end up with 10 sheeets and 200 total labels after the data merge, they will be at the appropriate size and layout for the print.

Purchasing more software, such as InDesign, wouldn't make sense for me since this is a one-time project. Thank you for the suggestions though - they let me know what I was up  against.
