problem recording an Action

I am trying to record an Action for batch exporting images as jpg's and am running into the following problem after completing the following steps.

Open Image

Start New Action, assign Action name

Flatten image

File>Automate>Fit Image - assign dimensions

File>Export<Export As>Export - browse to folder, click Save

Exit PSD file without saving

At this point in the past I would see the Action dialog box and be able to stop recording.  Now I am taken to the Home screen and I don't see the Action dialog box anywhere so I can't stop recording the Action.  What has changed here and how do I stop the Action so that I can then execute it?  Thanks.

Additionally, once you solve the home screen annoyance... You can't record Export As or Quick Export To... in an action, nor are they accessible to scripting. You need to use either a Save As or Export Save for Web step in an action or script.

You can disable the Homescreen via unchecking

Photoshop > Preferences > General > Auto show the Home Screen
