Hi guys ! I'm working on a mockup at the moment, and i would like to place my screen in there, but when i close the .psd of the smart object they ask me to save it in a folder called temporary files. I'm doing it but that's not applied in my mockup:
1- i double click here
2- i add a layer with my visual
3- When closing the smart object page, photoshop ask me to save the file (like always)
4- Photoshop ask me to save this file in a temporary folder. Normally i don't have this step to do and that should be applied but no, that's not working...
Conclusion: I don( know what to do to apply my smart object on the visual... Help please !

You probably placed a file in a format that does not support Layers (jpg for example), so the Smart Object cannot be saved with the edits you performed and has to be saved in another format thus breaking the links to the SO instance.
Is »Update Smart Object« registered in the History after saving and closing the SO?
You could try using Replace Co

You could try using Replace Contents to embed the new file.

Can you show a full screen shot with your smart object opened. SOs normally open as psb files - Yet you mention psd and your screenshot showing the prompt to save has a line mentioning jpeg
