Problem with photoshop screen mode

When I open an image on CC20 photoshop, it's way too low down the screen - very irritating! How can I get it higher up the screen? I also want to retain the standard screen mode so I can see the other images I'm working on.

Do you mean that you don’t want tabbed view?
