hi

I downloaded a transparent logo, I want to insert it into a new document, but the logo is inserted into the document with the background.
What should I do so that only the logo itself enters the document?

Based on the screenshot »2022-12-27 (2).png« it seems obvious that the logo does not have a transparent background to begin with.

Where did you get the image?

Is there a vector version available (ai, eps, svg, pdf, …)?

No, the checkered background is plain pixel content, no transparency.

But you could use the Red Channel to recreate the logo with trsnaparency.

It looks like someone took a screen shot of the logo on the Photoshop transparent background, then saved it as an indexed color GIF. That was totally the wrong way to do it, because the way it was saved, the logo includes the pattern and no transparency.

Hi! It would be very easy to create a logo layer from this image. Import the image into Photoshop and make sure it is on a layer and not a background layer. Use either the Quick Selection tool or the Magic Want tool, and click in the Green area of the logo. Press Control-J to  duplicate the layer and because you chose just the green area, only that part will be duplicated. Then turn off the visibility of your original layer and do some clean up work on the logo if you need to.

Let us know if you have any questions,

Michelle

And excellent practice, a lot more satisfying and will make you more independant of Google Images going forward.
