I'm working on a couple of illustration pieces, I've got this really nice lighting effect going on using the Pin Light blending mode. This looks great on screen until I export the file or view the page at 100% - at this point the effect appears to be lost.
I've attached a before and after zoom shot do you to check out. Any ideas?

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?
100% is what counts; if the effect is not visible at 100% then that’s that.
Especially with extremely noisy images (yours seems to essentially be a dithered bitmap) Adjustments and Blend Modes can produce treacherous previews at other magnifications.
One used to be able to force a fullres-calculation of the preview by setting the Cache Level to 1 but that option has been broken years ago and not been fixed so far.
Edit: To speed up previewing Photoshop utilizes downsampled »stand-ins« in calculating the preview. The downsampling can create (for example) gray pixels where there actually are only black and white pixels. Some Adjustments and Blend Modes can therefore produce essentially faulty previews under the »right« conditions.
