Problems with Photoshop 2024 Brushes

Hello,

I am running into a problem with my photoshop brushes. I have installed them in Photoshop 2024 but every time I close and reopen, I have to reinstall them. I am installing them the same way I have in previous photoshops. I haven't been able to find any articles or videos that help either.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Kenneth,

Sounds like you havent granted permissions to Photoshop.

Go to Apple System Settings/Security and Privacy/Full Disk Access and make sure PS is listed and checked active.

Hey Kevin,

I have an update for you. They are now showing up in my beside of my brush pannel instead of in the area where the brushes are normally located but they don't stay once I close photoshop. I am able to save my actions and things like that but I can't keep my brushes without having to open them from the dropdown menu. Do you have a solution for this?

Below is a visual representation of what I am talking about

I call that the 'Right Click panel' that being what we see when right clicking inside the document window with the brush tool selected.

You say you installed the brushes.  What does that mean? What steps did it involve?

It sounds like you have your brush .abr files backed up in a folder somewhere. In Windows I simply drag the .abr files to

C:\Users\[ Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Presets\Brushes

The File Locations page  says the Mac brushes folder is:

Note I don't know if that is a hidden location that needs setting to be viewed.

If the .abr files are not in that location, roll back to the previous Photoshop version in Finder, and see if the files are there.  If so move them to the current version.  Definitely keep a back up somewhere safe.
