Program error cannot save

When I try to do a save I receive a message that states Could not save because of a program error. Then is will save the image under Adobe with a bunch of numbers. Frustrating. Any ideas on how to fix this?

This is also happening with me on photoshop. It says "Could not save "img.tif" because of a program error. Not sure what could have caused this as I have been editing and saving photos all day.
