I tried clicking on Filter > 3D > Generate Bump, and it turned my whole project black, and now I can't get it back. I'm not even wanting to do 3D work, I was just curious what it would do. I wish I didn't try to mess around with it. When I open other projects, the screen is normal. Its just black for this one project. Someone help please!! I have hundreds of hours that I put into this project. I'm using a macbook pro

"I have hundreds of hours that I put into this project"

Do you not keep backups of your important files for situations like this, storage is cheap and having a backup routine is an essential part of your work flow

You could try enabling this option in preferences and restarting Photoshop to see if it helps

Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work. My file seems fine, I can see the layers are still there, I just can't view anything. Now whenever I open other existing projects or new projects, it is a black screen as well

What Ged said, back up your projects.

If you have not closed the file or Photoshop, try File > Revert. (I might be too late on this).

Since you have MacOS, try Time Machine.  MacOS APFS file system keeps local disk snapshots for up to 24 hours. Here's how to get to them:
