Purchased a 500GB SSD with USB 3.0 connection to add as my scratch disk, but it won't show up as an option. Please advise on how to get PS to see my new SSD. Thank you.

Hi Sandyb,

As you are not able to see your SSD in Photoshop's preferences, could you try following the steps mentioned below and let us know if it works: -

1.     Go to Get info on your SSD and check "Ignore ownership on this volume"

2.     Relaunch Photoshop.

3.     You should now be able to check your disk as a scratch disk.

Regards,

Sahil

I don't see this option "Ignore ownership on this volume" in the "Get Info" on this SSD.

I did noticed that the new SSD drive that I want to use as my Scratch Disk is formatted as exFAT, whereas another external drive is formatted as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Would this might be the problem? Should I reformat the new SSD drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled)?

Thank you for your help and assistance.
