Error message - "Due to a problem initializing CC Libraries, existing links to library graphics will appear broken and new link creation may fail."

I've seen replies to this in various threads (mostly very old ones) and was wondering if there's an up to date answer/solution for 2024?

PS 2020 21.2.9 - strangely it was working fine and just started doing this out of the blue.

I have been sucessfully bouncing ("Edit In)  PSD files from Lightroom Classic 13.1  to  edit in PS 2020 - up until this point.  Now not sure what to do!

I haven't started up and deleted preferences yes (a bit concerned I might lose my actions - although I do have them saved in external HDD backups)

Some say this thread has the answer - but again - 2020 date makes this an old instruction.  the files and directories aren't quite the same.
I have files called - IPCBroker - but not on this computer (only on external backups)

FWIW I'm working on a migrated copy of a system from a last gen iMac - now on Mac Studio M2.

Something I have planned soon is a clean install - which would mean reinstalling PS 2020 and all the other current Creative Cloud LR/PS versions from scratch.   For now however I just want to finish my work in progress with a stable PS 2020 if that's possible!

Migration of Adobe software almost never gets all the bits and pieces required to run the software properly

because of how Adobe scatters it's install all over the drive instead of in a nice neat package in the Applications

folder like most other software.

Usually Adobe software requires a clean install, however, in your case it's not possible to do a clean install of

Photoshop 2020 because Adobe doesn't publicly provide the installer and as far as i know, there is no

Adobe approved of site to get such installer for Photoshop 2020.

You can though repair the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application by going to

Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud

double clicking on Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud and the clicking Repair

and see if that fixes the issue.

On your macOS 14.1.2 install do you have the AdobeIPCBroker.app

in either

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Desktop Common/IPCBox

or

Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/IPC

On this macOS 14.2.1 there is only the AdobeIPCBroker.app in

Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Desktop Common/IPCBox

however, the oldest installed version of photoshop is 2021 (ps ver 22.2) and in

Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager there is only a single file pim.db

Do you have any more recent versions of Photoshop and/or Lightroom Classic installed?

I appreciate your response and will have to review it carefully at some point going forward.  I'm in the midst of synchronizing and backing up multiple archival HDDs with an eye towards new installs/full clean install.  But if it's true PS2020 isn't going to be available as one of these it may cause me to rethink the strategy.  There's lots of moving parts currently.  My migration included  PS2020, 2022, and 2024 FWIW - I'm only hanging on to 2020 due to one legacy plug-in filter that I use all the time.  I would have to develop an alternative approach to replace it.
