PS 2023 Actions File

Good day to all.

I've made a handful of actions for processing photos.  I would like to find them on my compouter, but i cannot locate them.  I've taken the usual routes: users/name/app data/roaming/adobe/PS 2023/actions - and it is empty.  I also tried C:/program files/adobe/presets/actions/ and i have the default actions - nothing i've made.

I have a good feeling i'm looking in the wrong places AND the actions I've made are not .atn files.

Can someone point me in the right direction PLEASE

If you didn't explicitly save the action sets from the action panel to individual .atn files, then they may be lost.

Loaded .atn files or newly created and unsaved action sets are temporarily stored in the Actions Palette presets file (Actions Palette.psp). This file should be considered temporary and may be subject to corruption or loss, which is why making an explicit save to .atn file for each individual action set is strongly advised.

If the actions are not currently in the panel, then the .psp file will not help you, unless you have a backup or older version folder still containing the file.

Mac:

/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop CC 2022 Settings⁩/Actions Palette.psp

Win:

C:\Users\username\appData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Adobe Photoshop 2022 Settings\Actions Palette.psp

(Replace “username” with your user account name and also replace 2022 with your version name/number. The Windows appData or Mac Library directory may be hidden. You can search the web for how to make hidden folders visible for your OS if this is the case).
