Ps 2026 Neural Photo Restoration Beta -- We've temporarily disabled this filter because of an error

The beta version doesn't solve the problem for me. Only in version 26.11.2 does the skin-smoothing neural filter work. It neither works in beta nor in PS version 27.2. 

Error when I open Neural filters. It refuses to search for faces on any images with people

updating status.

Thanks for reaching out and reporting this.

One additional thing you can try, which has helped a user:

• Rotate the image to a different angle

– Try 90°, 180°, or even 45°

– Then try Photo Restoration

This isn’t a guaranteed workaround, but it can help rule out edge cases.

At this point, given that:

• The issue reproduces in 27.2 and 27.3 Beta

• The error triggers immediately when NR is enabled

I’m reporting this behavior to the product team with your findings so it can be reviewed properly.

Ps 27.2 and Ps 27.3 Beta both fail as soon as I set the NR slider to 1, and left the other three set to 0. The 'disabled' error immediately, instantaneously appeared.

Please understand that the issue isn't with the Photo Restoration neural filter (and others, like reflection removal) not "working better," it's that they don't work at all, failing with the "we've disabled..." message. Maybe Adobe should abandon-and-remove, instead of continuing to include them in the last Releases and in the next Release Candidate (27.3).

i'd suggest transitioning your workflow out of Neural filters since it appears that Adobe has essentially abandoned them in favor of Firefly and the other generative models. Most of Neural has been bugged or just produces terrible results since the introduction and Adobe has done almost nothing to improve or fix the issues. You'll also get MUCH BETTER results with the prompt tools instead...

Hey, @LAMY2017. I can confirm that the Photoshop (beta) version 27.3 includes fixes for Neural Filters. 

You could try the Beta and let us know how it goes. 

For the Photos Restoration neural filter, specifically, an image with recognizable facial features works better.
