I just purchased a new computer and it doesnt have a CD disc for me to download my copy of CS6 which I also have a key for, so I copied the entire PS CS6 file from the adobe folder off my old computer, and when I added it to the new computer it will not open. Can I get some help please.

1)Perhaps the most current download link for CS6.that will work and open

I tried the link for my key here at adobe site, but that link is broken and does not work

2)Another option  I was considering is to buy an external  CD Disc player, will I run into the same issue once its downloaded onto my computer of not opening?

Thank you for your assistance !!

Wow I missed the part where you said "That being said, there's been a rumour that the old CS6 activation servers are also now deactivated"

Have other who perhaps ran into the same issue been successful getting there copy of CS6 accitivated after the rumors of deactivativating the survers..

From my own experience with support, I was told they could not help me in any way, I even asked to be kicked up to the next level of support  and was told there was nothing can can do for me from that level. .

If you had registered your previous install, your CS6 will show up in your adobe account under Plans and Payments > Products, with both a link to a CS6 installer disk image and your serial number in case you have misplaced it.

If you did NOT register your CS6 back then, you have the opportunity to enter your existing serial on the same page, but, of course, it has to be a legitimate serial that belongs to you.

That being said, there's been a rumour that the old CS6 activation servers are also now deactivated, so you may still have to contact Adobe to activate no matter how you install the software. You may need an activation count reset if you are over your limit (e.g. if didn't deactivate a previous install)

So your referring to your CS6 copy you tried on an old machine of yours

Yes, I did this exact procedure last night. That being said, I am on a Mac and the machine I installed on was definitely within the machine specs for CS6, so I don't know how different it is for your Windows and whether your new machine can even run CS6 apps.

You can either buy a DVD/CD player and try it. Check the return policy if you have trouble installing/running CS6 on the new OS.

Another option is to find a computer with a disc drive, convert the CD to an ISO file to run as a virtual drive, copy the ISO file to your new system, and try installing it from the file.

BTW, if you are on a Mac, I believe the Disc FirstAid can make a virtual disc.

How was it installed on your old computer?  From a CD, or via download? If from a CD, an external player ought to work. If from download, see if you still have the installation files somewhere on your old computer. You should be able to install from those.

You can't just copy the Photoshop program files over; it has to actually be installed on the new machine.

I think you a referring to exc file for the download.

Had an idea, can I down load CS6 from my disc using my old computers CD drive ,and copy it onto a thumb  drive and then upload that to the new computer
