PS2020 icc profiles not showing up in print menu Win10

Hello,

In Windows10, I have added two new paper icc profiles to the seemingly correct folder (windows\System32\spool\drivers\color). Both were right-click installed while PS was not running. They both show up in the Edit>Assign profile drop down menu, but neither show up in the printer profile list in the color management area of the printer setup dialog box. Can someone please tell me how to correct this?

Same issue on Windows 10 running the latest Photoshop 2021

I downloaded and installed icc profiles (in the correct directory) from a print shop

But when I try to soft proof my images in Photoshop (or in Lightroom), these icc profiles don't show up 😞

Of course I did close my Adobe apps and rebooted... but same scenario !

Any help warmly appreciated

Hello,

 

It seems my icc profiles were saved in a different 'Library/User folder.

 

I had my husband take a look and he noticed they were not saved in the correct file.

Maybe check out were they are being saved to?

My ICC profiles are stored in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color\xyz.icc

Is it where yours are stored too ?

Just a thought:

A profile has an internal name and an external filename and they can be different. When you drop it into the color folder you see the external name. When you look for it in the soft proof or print dialogues you need to look for the internal name.

    you mentioned the "the printer setup dialog box"

    I presume you are referring to the printer driver dialog boxes

    that’s not where ICC profiles are listed

    you need to look under the pulldown next to "Photoshop Manages Color" to use a custom printer profile 

    I hope the profile-maker gave you instrctions on how to do that?

    Upload the profile here please (as an attacthment) so we can check the internal (displayed) name is matching the 'file system name' - it often does not

    Got the same problem.. but when changed the paper type in Media setting in Print Settings then every profiles appears.

    That's interesting. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. No matter what I
    set the media type to, I still only get the default Canon paper profiles,
    and none of the others.

    Hello, I also have the same problem.

     

    I've downloaded Billiant Museum Colour profiles, both saved in library/colorsync/profiles but it's not showing in my printer settings dialogue. It's only showing default Canon paper profiles.

     

    I've tried everything. Restarting etc

    The colour of my prints are dull / washed out looking and not sure what else to do?

    Any advice greatly appreciated

    Are you sure they are actually paper profiles, not just proof profiles e.g. to simulate colored paper? What are they and how were they created? What printer? More specific info sure would help, as there could be a whole lot going on, including the profiles being incompatible legacy ones or not tagged correctly for output targets.

    They're supposed to be paper profiles. They were downloaded from the Red River Paper "inkjet printer color profile" library. They are specific to my printer (Canon imagePROGRAF Pro-1000) and the RR paper I'm using.
