PSCC 2022 Match Color is Broken?
Hey all - wondering if anyone else has experienced a totally broken "match color" (via image > adjustments) that began, I think, with the prevoius and latest version of photoshop cc. There aren't really any steps needed to reproduce the bug, as it seems to just globally not work any more on all images, color modes, file types, etc. Oh, and I cannot comment if it's confined to only mac users or not as I don't have a pc. I'm running mac os x 11.6.6. and the most recent photoshop (23.5.1).
Match Color is something I use several times a day to assist in blending parts of different images together and still functions perfectly in previous versions of photoshop like cc 2021 and below. However, when attempting to use it in cc 2022 it either creates a truly strange hyper color result that seems to replace the image with something more like abstract art or else it just turns the layer solid black or white. Maybe 1 out of 20 will drastically darken an image where you can still make out the photo - but in any case it's not working whatsoever and requires opening a different version of photoshop to use it.
And before anyone asks, I've tried resetting/removing my preferences multiple times, wiping ps 2022 from my system and doing a clean install, matching to layers in the same document, different documents, using it on different file types and bit depths, on small, selected portions of layers as well as entire layers, and any any other scenarios I could come up with. Something seems to have just broken with its function solely in the last couple versions of ps 2022. But alas, I don't know if it's somehow just me or if others have noticed this, as well. For now, I just have the workaround of reverting to using an older ps version. Thank you kindly.
